Govt Urges Parties To Avoid 3R Issues In Johor, Negeri Sembilan Polls

Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has called on all political parties contesting in the upcoming Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections to conduct healthy campaigns and refrain from exploiting sensitive 3R issues involving race, religion and royalty.

Its minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said election campaigns should focus on policies, leadership and solutions for the people rather than issues that could threaten public harmony.

He added that MCMC would continue working closely with the Election Commission (EC) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to monitor election-related activities throughout the campaign period, while urging all parties to play their role in ensuring a smooth and responsible electoral process.

Separately, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Communications Director said the emergence of the newly formed Parti Wawasan Negara should not be underestimated and should instead motivate PH component parties to intensify their efforts on the ground.

“The emergence of a new party should not be taken lightly. It should serve as a catalyst for PKR, AMANAH and our PH partners to work harder, engage the people more effectively and prove that our approach to solving problems is better,” he said.

Fahmi cited the resolution of a long-standing 44-year housing issue involving the Bukit Kiara community as an example of the government’s ability to deliver tangible outcomes under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership.
