Northern Solar Holdings Berhad announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary has entered into a Subcontract Coordination Agreement to support the execution of an engineering, procurement and construction project involving collector lines and a Solar Photovoltaic Plant Interconnection Facility (SPP-IF).
The agreement was signed on 18 June 2026 between NSSB and an appointed contractor whose identity was not disclosed due to confidentiality provisions.
The agreement relates to the EPC project for collector lines and the SPP-IF, which was previously awarded to NSSB through a Letter of Award accepted on 3 March 2026, with a contract value of RM71.86 million.
Northern Solar said the coordination agreement is aimed at ensuring smooth integration between NSSB’s goods supply activities and electrical and construction (EC) works carried out by the contractor.
The arrangement is also intended to establish a standardised coordination framework between the parties, minimise interface risks, and ensure project objectives relating to quality, schedule, safety and cost are achieved.
Under the agreement, both parties will operate based on a “back-to-back” principle, whereby NSSB’s obligations will align with the requirements and standards imposed under the main contracts with the project owner.
NSSB will be responsible for ensuring compliance with key project requirements, including quality standards, construction progress, safety measures, environmental protection, inspection and acceptance procedures, defects liability obligations and confidentiality requirements.
The company said the agreement strengthens NSSB’s position and track record in the renewable energy and EPC sector, particularly in large-scale solar photovoltaic developments.
The move is aligned with Northern Solar Group’s strategy to expand its renewable energy business and increase participation in infrastructure and sustainable energy-related projects in Malaysia.
Northern Solar expects the agreement and project execution to contribute positively to the Group’s future earnings throughout the project duration.
The company added that the project would enhance NSSB’s technical capabilities, operational experience and credentials in undertaking utility-scale solar construction works, improving its competitiveness in securing future renewable energy opportunities.
