Govt Offers Public University Scholarship To Top 18 2025 STPM Students

The top 18 performers in the 2025 Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) examination will receive scholarships from public universities, in a move aimed at rewarding academic excellence and encouraging more students to pursue the Form Six pathway.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the scholarships, which cover undergraduate tuition fees, mark a new government initiative to strengthen the Form Six ecosystem.

“Beginning with the STPM 2025 cohort, every public university will offer undergraduate scholarships to the top STPM students,” she said, expressing appreciation to all public universities for supporting the initiative.

The announcement comes as STPM 2025 recorded an improved national performance, with the overall Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) rising to 2.88 from 2.85 a year earlier.

Fadhlina said the improvement reflects the positive impact of efforts to enhance the quality of education and strengthen support for Form Six students.

Among the initiatives introduced are the expansion of Form Six Colleges, the provision of smart boards, Early Schooling Assistance and the MADANI Book Voucher programme.

She said the measures are part of the government’s broader efforts to make Form Six a more attractive pre-university option while raising educational standards nationwide.
