WCT Holdings Berhad (WCT) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary has secured a sub-contract worth approximately RM529 million for the construction of the Yas Living development in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The contract was awarded to a 50:50 unincorporated joint venture between WCT International Sdn Bhd (WCTISB) and UAE-based Construction General Contracting House Ltd (CGCH).

WCT said the joint venture had on 18 June 2026 accepted the Sub-Contract Letter of Award issued by CGCH to undertake the construction works for the Yas Living Main Works Package.

The project is owned and developed by Aldar Development LLC – O.P.C. and involves the construction and completion of commercial and residential buildings across two phases.

Under the agreement, the joint venture will undertake non-foundational structural works, architectural works, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works, as well as external works for the development.

Foundation-related works, including piling and excavation, will be carried out by other appointed parties.

Following the acceptance of the award, WCTISB and CGCH will proceed to establish an incorporated joint venture company on a 50:50 basis to formally enter into the sub-contract with CGCH and execute the project works.

Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with completion targeted within 972 days from the commencement date.
