Selangor Allocates RM355 Million To Tackle Supply Chain Disruptions Due To Gulf Crisis

The Selangor State Government has allocated a total of RM355.06 million under the Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package Phase 1 and Phase 2 to address potential supply disruptions arising from the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said RM145.8 million has been allocated under Phase 1, which is currently being implemented through seven initiatives.

Meanwhile, an additional RM209.26 million has been set aside for Phase 2, comprising 15 new initiatives announced today.

Amirudin said the package was introduced as a proactive measure following disruptions caused by geopolitical tensions in West Asia, which have affected global energy supply chains and created uncertainty across various sectors.

He said the state government had conducted discussions with experts and gathered relevant data before formulating the measures to ensure the initiatives effectively address current challenges.

“In times of crisis, we need cooperation and commitment from everyone. Collaboration is not only among members of the administration and representatives, but requires the involvement of the people as a whole,” he said.

Amirudin added that the initiatives were designed not only to provide financial assistance but also to strengthen key sectors such as retail, agriculture and related supply chains.

He said the state government’s approach aimed to ensure Selangor’s economy remained competitive and resilient while continuing to contribute towards Malaysia’s broader economic growth.

The package was developed based on recommendations from a special task force and focus group discussions, which identified challenges faced by various sectors and communities.
