PM Anwar Heads Straight To Penang Upon Arriving From Turkeminstan

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim headed straight to Penang today after concluding his official visit to Turkmenistan, continuing a packed schedule with a one-day working visit that includes investment-related events and the National Journalists’ Day (HAWANA) 2026 Summit.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to begin the visit by officiating the opening of MKS Instruments Malaysia Sdn Bhd at Bandar Cassia Technology Park in Batu Kawan at 11am.

He will then attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the Setia Fontaines Industrial Park in Kepala Batas at 1pm, a project that underscores Setia’s long-term commitment to economic development in Penang and the Northern Corridor.

The ceremony will also see the launch of two strategic collaborations within the Setia Fontaines township.

Later, the Prime Minister will attend the HAWANA 2026 Summit at the PICCA@Arena Butterworth, which is expected to gather about 1,000 media practitioners from Malaysia and abroad.

During the event, Anwar is set to present the HAWANA Award and Special HAWANA Award to individuals who have made significant contributions to journalism and public thought, as well as hand over aid under the Tabung Kasih@HAWANA initiative to media practitioners in need.

After wrapping up his Penang engagements, Anwar is scheduled to attend the Malaysian Five Generations Organisations (PLG) gathering dinner in Negeri Sembilan later tonight.
