Bursa Malaysia Ends Lower, FBM KLCI Slips 0.65%

Bursa Malaysia closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark FBM KLCI shedding 11.19 points, or 0.65%, to 1,700.84 as selling pressure weighed on blue-chip and broader market stocks.

The decline was mirrored across key indices, signalling cautious investor sentiment.

The FBM70 Index dropped 125.48 points, or 0.69%, to 18,037.10, while the FBM Emas Index fell 78.26 points, or 0.62%, to 12,602.79.

The broad-based decline came as investors remained cautious amid ongoing global market uncertainties, with losses recorded across large-cap and mid-cap counters.

Despite the weaker close, the FBM KLCI managed to remain above the key 1,700-point level, suggesting some resilience in the local market amid volatile trading conditions.

Tanco Holdings Bhd emerged as the most actively traded stock with 1.17 billion shares changing hands despite the counter closing one sen lower at 13 sen.

Zetrix AI Bhd was the second most active stock, recording a volume of 730.4 million shares. The counter ended at 78.5 sen.

Among other active stocks being traded are Dagang NeXchange Bhd, GIIB Holdings Bhd, and SKP Resources Bhd.

The heavy trading activity came as Bursa Malaysia ended lower, with investors remaining cautious amid broader market weakness.
