RTM and Astro have strengthened their strategic partnership to expand access to quality local content across multiple broadcasting platforms, reaffirming their shared commitment to serving Malaysian audiences in an evolving media landscape.
Announced on June 26, 2026, the collaboration reflects both organisations’ belief that the rapidly changing media industry calls for a more progressive, inclusive and future-focused approach.
As technology advances and audiences embrace a wider range of viewing platforms, RTM and Astro say closer collaboration between industry players is essential to ensure Malaysians continue to enjoy trusted, high-quality content at an affordable cost.
The enhanced partnership will also support the development of Malaysia’s local content ecosystem by nurturing creative talent and contributing to a more sustainable, competitive and relevant media industry. Both organisations believe the initiative will create long-term benefits for the broadcasting sector while improving public access to informative and engaging programming.
As part of the expanded collaboration, Malaysians will continue to enjoy RTM’s TV1, TV2 and TV Okey channels on Astro, NJOI and Sooka. In addition, Astro customers will soon gain access to more RTM offerings, including Berita RTM, Sukan+ and RTM’s network of radio stations, further broadening the availability of public service content across the platform.
According to both groups, the strengthened partnership is expected to benefit both organisations, reinforce the local media industry, and make quality, reliable, and relevant content more accessible to audiences nationwide.
