Decliners Overwhelm Gainers As Selling Pressure Dominates

Market movement ended on a weaker note on June 26 as selling pressure dominated, with decliners overwhelming gainers by more than two-to-one at 728 versus 334.

However, there were some 528 counters that closed unchanged, while 1,153 were untraded and 65 suspended, reflecting cautious investor sentiment across the broader market.

Leading the losers, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd tumbled RM2 to RM47, followed by UMS Integration Limited, which fell 70 sen to RM7.80. Vitrox Corp Bhd declined 59 sen to RM7.26, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd slipped 48 sen to RM27.70, while UWC Bhd lost 30 sen to RM6.30.

On the gaining side, United Plantations Bhd added 30 sen to RM32.60, Nestlé (M) Bhd rose 22 sen to RM95.84, Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd and Petronas Dagangan Bhd each gained 20 sen to RM18.50 and RM18.60 respectively, while Silver Ridge Holdings Bhd advanced 14 sen to RM2.99.
