Louis Vuitton is expanding its beauty universe with the launch of the LV Crayon, a lip liner designed with a focus on precision and control.
The pencil comes in 10 shades and features a Monogram Flower-inspired silhouette meant to improve grip during application. It is positioned alongside the brand’s existing lip products, including LV Rouge lipsticks and LV Baume lip balm, to broaden its lip category.
The formula is described as long-wearing with a semi-matte finish, intended to deliver pigment in a single stroke while also allowing softer blending for diffused or shaded effects. The product is designed to be used both as a defining liner and as a base layer under lipstick.
The launch falls under La Beauté Louis Vuitton, a collection developed under creative director Dame Pat McGrath. The range includes satin and matte lipsticks, as well as balm textures, with finishes tailored to different application preferences rather than a single, uniform formula.
Like other products in the line, the LV Crayon follows a refillable, design-led approach, with packaging conceived as part of the object rather than a disposable component. The pencil is made from wood and topped with a metal cap featuring the house’s monogram detailing.
The lip category has become central to luxury beauty expansion strategies, with brands extending signature codes into cosmetics while competing on texture, wear, and design rather than colour alone.
