Sime Darby Berhad announced that its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, PT UMW International (PTUI), has commenced liquidation proceedings under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.
The automotive group said the liquidation process began following the appointment of a liquidator effective 4 May 2026.
The appointed liquidator is Ruti Rahayu, based in Jakarta Timur, Indonesia.
Sime Darby said the liquidation of PTUI is not expected to have any material impact on the group’s earnings, net assets or operations for the financial year ending 30 June 2026.
The company added that none of its directors, major shareholders, or persons connected with them have any direct or indirect interest in the liquidation process.
PT UMW International is an indirect subsidiary of Sime Darby, and the liquidation forms part of the company’s corporate restructuring activities.
Sime Darby assured that the matter would not significantly affect the group’s ongoing business operations.
