Temperature Peaked 34 Degrees In Kedah, Kelantan, Pahang And Johor As Weather Pattern Swings

Malaysia recorded maximum daily temperatures of more than 34°C in several states on June 28, while parts of the country experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, highlighting contrasting weather conditions across the nation.

According to MetMalaysia, the highest temperature of the day was recorded at Temerloh, Pahang at 34.8°C, followed by Kuala Krai, Kelantan at 34.4°C, Muadzam Shah, Pahang at 34.3°C, Kluang, Johor at 34.1°C and Chuping, Perlis together with Bintulu, Sarawak at 34.0°C.

Other locations that recorded hot conditions included Senai, Johor at 33.9°C, Ipoh, Alor Setar, Kuala Terengganu and Sandakan at 33.6°C, while Subang, Kuantan and Kuala Pilah each registered 33.5°C.

Despite the hot weather in many areas, several locations received significant rainfall. Kuala Krai recorded 34.6mm of rain, followed closely by Gong Kedak, Terengganu with 34.2mm, Ranau, Sabah with 33.6mm and Kuching, Sarawak with 32.2mm.

Moderate rainfall was also reported in Keningau at 16.2mm, Cameron Highlands at 14.2mm, Alor Setar and Mulu at 10.0mm each and Sri Aman at 7.8mm.

Most stations across the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, including Petaling Jaya, Subang, Kuala Lumpur, Butterworth, Bayan Lepas, Prai, Ipoh, Sitiawan and Kluang, recorded little to no rainfall during the day.

The data, released by MetMalaysia on its official X account, covered daily maximum temperatures and rainfall totals at major meteorological stations nationwide for June 28.
