Govt Plans To Build New Hospital In Enstek

The government plans to build a new hospital in Bandar Enstek, Nilai, to ease overcrowding at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar (HTJ) and meet rising healthcare demand in the Seremban district.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the proposed hospital in northern Seremban is needed to support the area’s rapid development, which has driven a sharp increase in population.

The decision follows the Health Ministry’s review of the proposed Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar 2 (HTJ2) project in Rasah and discussions with Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun on June 16.

The Negeri Sembilan government has identified two 50-acre parcels of land owned by the Federal Lands Commissioner in Bandar Enstek as potential sites for the new hospital.

Dzulkefly said the ministry will inspect both sites soon before selecting the most suitable location and submitting an application to change the land use to the Department of the Director General of Lands and Mines (JKPTG).

If approved, preliminary works will begin immediately, including land surveys, soil investigations, conceptual design, cost estimation and the implementation of a Value Assessment (VA) exercise.

He added that the Menteri Besar has also agreed to proceed with the application to gazette 36.748 acres of Federal Reserve land in Bandar Seremban for future healthcare developments.

The site could be used for projects such as an additional block at the existing Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar and a Centre of Excellence (COE) to further strengthen healthcare services in the state.

Dzulkefly said this in a written parliamentary reply to Rasah MP Cha Kee Chin, with the response published on the Dewan Rakyat website.
