Govt Allocated Rm429 Million To Strengthen Enforcement Agencies In Johor

The government has allocated more than RM429 million to strengthen enforcement agencies in Johor, reinforcing operational capacity and welfare support for personnel amid rising security and public order demands.

Minister of Home Affairs Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the allocation, channelled through the Home Ministry, covers three key agencies — the Royal Malaysia Police, the Immigration Department and the Prisons Department — over the period from 2023 to this year.

He said the funding is intended not only to improve infrastructure and facilities, but also to enhance service delivery by ensuring enforcement personnel operate in safer and more conducive conditions.

The RM429 million commitment comprises RM174.8 million for completed and ongoing projects. Furthermore, RM255 million has been earmarked for projects in the planning stage.

Among current projects are the acquisition of land for the Pengerang district police headquarters, the purchase of premises and quarters for the Johor Bahru Immigration Department, and upgrading works at Kluang Prison.

Planned initiatives include the construction of the Segamat district police headquarters with accompanying facilities, upgrades to the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex bus passenger hall, and improvements to prison infrastructure in Kluang and Simpang Renggam.

Saifuddin said the investments are part of broader efforts under the MADANI administration to strengthen public sector capacity while ensuring the welfare of enforcement personnel is safeguarded.
He added that stronger operational readiness among agencies ultimately contributes to improved public safety and more efficient enforcement outcomes across the state.
