Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged FELDA to expedite the resolution of long-standing issues affecting settlers, particularly those involving second-generation housing and land ownership.
In a statement today, Anwar said the agency must intensify efforts to address the challenges faced by FELDA communities through swift action and well-defined solutions.
“FELDA must redouble its efforts to resolve issues that have long burdened settlers, especially those related to second-generation housing and land ownership.
“These issues cannot be allowed to drag on. I want immediate action that prioritises the interests of FELDA settlers, with every problem carefully assessed and followed by a clear resolution plan,” he said.
Anwar reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening FELDA and ensuring that all initiatives undertaken deliver tangible benefits to settlers and their families.
His remarks came a day after he assured settlers that the government would work to resolve the long-standing issue of housing sites for FELDA’s second generation.
However, he noted that progress would require the cooperation of state governments, as land matters and the provision of basic infrastructure fall under their jurisdiction.
