AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd (ARIM) has brought together investors and industry players to discuss how Malaysia’s election cycle, geopolitical developments and shifts in the global energy landscape could influence the investment environment.
The discussions took place during the Future Finance Forum 2026, themed “Decoding Elections, Energy Shocks & the Future of Malaysia”, which gathered institutional investors, corporates, government-linked institutions and industry partners.
The forum focused on three key factors shaping market outlooks, namely Malaysia’s domestic election cycle, the post-Iran War energy landscape and the impact of these developments on portfolio strategies.
Socio-Economic Research Centre (SERC) executive director Lee Heng Guie delivered the main session titled “Investors’ Guide to Malaysia’s Election Year & the Post-Iran War Economy”, providing insights into the economic implications of these developments.
The session was followed by a discussion with AmanahRaya Investment Management chief executive officer Mohamad Shafik Badaruddin, focusing on investor concerns and portfolio positioning amid a more complex macroeconomic environment.
“Our clients and partners are navigating one of the most complex macro backdrops in a decade. Through the Future Finance Forum, we want to give them a space where the conversation is honest, the analysis is sharp, and the perspectives are grounded in what is actually happening on the ground in Malaysia. That is the role we intend to play for our stakeholders — as an investment manager, and as a partner in making sense of the market,” Mohamad Shafik said.
AmanahRaya said the forum forms part of its broader investor engagement and education efforts, aimed at providing market participants with perspectives on issues affecting investment decisions.
The company added that it plans to continue the platform as a recurring forum to discuss key economic and market developments relevant to investors.
