DENZA Z9GT: Malaysia’s Next Electric Grand Tourer Arrives With 850kw Of Performance

The era of high-performance electric grand tourers is gaining momentum, and the DENZA Z9GT is set to enter Malaysia with a bold proposition: Combining supercar-level acceleration, advanced electric architecture and luxury-focused refinement in a single package.

Making its Asia Pacific debut in Malaysia on July 15, 2026, the Z9GT represents DENZA’s most technologically advanced model to date, built around the brand’s e3 Platform, BYD’s latest Blade Battery 2.0 technology and an intelligent cabin designed for both performance driving and long-distance touring.

Supercar performance with everyday usability

At the centre of the Z9GT’s appeal is its tri-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering up to 850kW, 1,156PS and 1,210Nm of torque.

The figures translate into a zero to 100kmh sprint of just 2.7 seconds, placing the electric grand tourer firmly in performance car territory, while its driving range of up to 701km (NEDC) allows it to remain practical for longer journeys.

However, the Z9GT is engineered to offer more than straight-line speed as its e3 Platform introduces advanced vehicle control technologies, including rear axle steering of up to 15 degrees and a class-leading turning radius of 4.62m.

This allows the Z9GT to handle tight urban roads and parking spaces with greater agility than its size suggests. Features such as Crab Mode, e3 Parking, Pencil Compass Turn and Vehicle Motion Control further enhance its manoeuvrability.

Adding to the driving experience is the DiSus-A Dual Chamber Air Suspension system, which continuously adjusts damping and stiffness to provide a balance between ride comfort and dynamic handling.

Charging technology built for the next generation of EVs

Supporting the performance credentials is BYD’s Second Generation Blade Battery 2.0, featuring a 122.49kWh battery pack and 1,000V high-voltage architecture.

With BYD Flash Charging Technology, the Z9GT can recharge from 10% to 70% in five minutes and reach 97% in nine minutes, significantly reducing charging downtime.

The updated battery technology also delivers approximately 5% higher energy density than the previous generation while maintaining the safety characteristics associated with BYD’s Blade Battery system.

Beyond its performance numbers, the Z9GT adopts a design philosophy centred around aerodynamic efficiency and visual presence.

Its sculpted silhouette is complemented by signature elements such as Dual Line LED headlamps, Hourglass taillights and Meteor Welcome Lighting, creating a distinctive road presence.

Inside, the cabin focuses on luxury and comfort, featuring genuine leather materials, real wood trim, electrically operated soft-close doors and front seats with active side bolsters for additional support during spirited driving.

The cabin is also equipped with dual 50W wireless charging pads for front occupants, a rear 50W wireless charging pad, a Devialet 20-speaker premium audio system and a compressor refrigerator with heating functionality.

Despite its performance focus, practicality remains part of the package, with a 495-litre rear trunk and 53-litre front trunk providing additional storage capacity.

Digital intelligence at the driver’s fingertips

The Z9GT’s cabin technology is powered by an advanced 3nm high-performance processor, enabling faster infotainment response and seamless connectivity.

The system also features Google built-in, integrating navigation and digital services into the vehicle’s connected ecosystem.

With its combination of electric performance, intelligent technology and luxury features, the Z9GT arrives as a new interpretation of the modern grand tourer.
