The stock market traded on a firmer footing as market sentiment improved slightly, with gainers narrowly outpacing losers 533 to 504 in a mixed stock movement session where some other 547 counters were unchanged, while 1,112 counters remained untraded and 12 counters were suspended.
SRKK AI Bhd was the standout mover, surging 29 sen, or 90.6%, to 61 sen, with more than 103.11 million shares traded, making it the most actively traded counter on the market. The AI solutions provider continued to attract investor attention following its ACE Market listing, which saw the stock opened at 60 sen against its IPO price of 32 sen.
Other notable gainers included Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd, which climbed 56 sen to RM46.26, while Kelington Group Bhd advanced 28 sen to RM7.98. Nestle (M) Bhd rose 20 sen to RM91.30, followed by MI Technovation Bhd, which gained 19 sen to RM4.82.
On the losing side, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd was the biggest decliner, falling 72 sen to RM28.92. Hong Leong Bank Bhd slipped 38 sen to RM21.70, while BLD Plantations Bhd eased 36 sen to RM14.84.
Other key laggards included Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd, which declined 28 sen to RM21.22, and Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd, down 12 sen to RM16.34.
Market activity remained robust, with 2.64 billion units valued at RM2.19 billion.
Overall, the market remained cautiously positive as investors tracked individual stock catalysts amid steady trading participation.
