Nearly 60% of Johor’s eligible voters had completed casting their ballots by 3 pm today, with 1,522,961 voters turning out in the 16th Johor State Election.
The Election Commission (EC) said the figure represented 56.77% of more than 2.6 million registered voters.
Semarang recorded the highest voter turnout at 66.1%, followed by Sri Medan at 64.4 per cent and Penawar at 64.2%.
Penggaram recorded the lowest turnout at 48.8%, followed by Bentayan at 49.0 per cent and Perling at 50.3%.
The EC released the latest turnout figures in a post on its official Facebook page.
At the same time during the 15th Johor State Election, voter turnout stood at 45.39%, with 1,168,809 out of more than 2.57 million registered voters having cast their ballots.
