Johor is expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds until 3 pm today per a weather warning issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
The warning, issued at 11:50 am on Saturday, places the entire state under alert as adverse weather conditions are forecast to persist throughout the afternoon.
The warning also extends to Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, as well as parts of Kedah, Perak, Pahang and Selangor.
In Kedah, the affected districts are Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu. In Perak, the warning covers Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak.
Meanwhile, the warning is in effect for Bera and Rompin in Pahang, and for Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang in Selangor.
MetMalaysia has advised the public to remain vigilant as thunderstorms may bring intense rainfall and strong winds, with weather conditions expected to change rapidly in the affected areas.
