Nippon Paint has reportedly submitted multiple offers to acquire Akzo Nobel’s decorative paints business over the past month, with its latest proposal valuing the unit at about €7.5 billion (US$8.55 billion).
According to Bloomberg News, citing people familiar with the matter, the most recent offer was made last week as Nippon Paint steps up efforts to acquire the business.
Reuters said it could not immediately verify the Bloomberg report.
Based on the reported valuation, the proposed deal would be worth about US$8.55 billion.
