Selangor Aviation & Technology Innovation Sdn Bhd (SELATI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI Selangor), has signed two memoranda of collaboration (MoCs) to accelerate the development of Selangor’s drone, advanced air mobility (AAM) and low altitude economy (LAE) ecosystem.
The first MoC was signed with SELGEM Sdn Bhd, while the second is a tripartite collaboration involving SELATI, GTP Network Sdn Bhd and EdgePoint Towers Sdn Bhd. The partnerships aim to strengthen ecosystem development, technology adoption and enabling infrastructure to support the state’s growing UAV, AAM and low-altitude economy sectors.
Under the collaborations, the parties will explore the development and deployment of innovative drone and AAM solutions, facilitate industry engagement and support the testing and implementation of emerging technologies and use cases.
The initiatives are aligned with the Selangor Aerospace Blueprint 2030 and Malaysia’s broader ambitions to strengthen its aerospace and high-technology industries. SELATI and Invest Selangor Bhd will also jointly promote investment to attract both domestic and foreign direct investments, positioning Selangor as a regional hub for drone technologies, advanced air mobility and emerging low-altitude economy industries.
Selangor EXCO for Islamic Religious Affairs and Innovation Dr Fahmi Ngah said the collaborations mark an important milestone in realising the state’s LAE vision, while SELATI Chief Executive Officer Zannifa Azura Ahmad said the partnerships will help accelerate ecosystem growth by leveraging complementary capabilities and resources.
