Damai City Sdn Bhd (In Liquidation) has filed an appeal against the High Court’s decision ordering the company to be wound up, according to GDB Holdings Bhd.
GDB said its wholly owned subsidiary, Grand Dynamic Builders Sdn Bhd (GDBSB), was informed by its solicitors that Damai City had lodged a Notice of Appeal with the Court of Appeal against the Shah Alam High Court’s winding-up order issued on July 15, 2026.
The appeal seeks to overturn the High Court’s decision, which ordered Damai City to be wound up together with costs.
The latest development follows GDB’s announcement on July 15 that the Shah Alam High Court had granted a winding-up order against Damai City Sdn Bhd (In Receivership), following a petition filed by TSL Victory Sdn Bhd under the Companies Act 2016.
The High Court also appointed Lim Tian Huat and Chiang Teng Guan of Rodgers Reidy & Co as joint liquidators of Damai City.
GDBSB, which is a creditor of Damai City, had previously filed a notice of intention to appear in the winding-up proceedings to oppose the petitioner’s proposed liquidator and successfully sought the appointment of the two joint liquidators.
The dispute is linked to ongoing legal proceedings involving Damai City, with GDBSB’s solicitors continuing to advise the company on related matters.
