Bursa Malaysia closed higher on July 27 as bargain hunters returned to banking and plantation heavyweights following the market’s recent pullback.
At 5pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 12.07 points, or 0.71%, to 1,713.09 from its close of 1,701.02 on July 24. The benchmark index traded between 1,702.35 and 1,718.31 during the session.
Among the broader indices, the FBM 70 gained 79.19 points, or 0.44%, to 17,970.02, the F4GBM advanced 6.34 points, or 0.62%, to 1,027.99, while the FBM Emas climbed 73.64 points, or 0.58%, to 12,663.18. The FBM Shariah added 42.61 points, or 0.34%, to 12,486.86.
As for the most actively traded counters, Tanco Holdings Bhd fell 1.5 sen to 24.5 sen on 115.73 million shares, after trading between 23 sen and 26.5 sen.
AIMAX Bhd was unchanged at one sen, with 113.22 million shares changing hands. The stock touched a high of 1.5 sen and a low of half a sen.
Zetrix AI Bhd declined 1.5 sen to 68.5 sen on 111.02 million shares, closing at its intraday low after reaching 70.5 sen. VS Industry Bhd also shed 1.5 sen to 23 sen on 95.50 million shares, while SNS Network Technology Bhd jumped 4.5 sen to 56 sen on 47.84 million shares.
