Destini 70% Owned M Rail Secures RM45 Million Train Service Contract From Railway Assets

Destini Berhad announced that its 70%-owned subsidiary, M Rail Technics Sdn Bhd has been awarded a contract by Railway Assets Corporation the statutory body responsible for owning, managing and overseeing Malaysia’s railway assets, to undertake Level 1 and Level 2 maintenance, repair and overhaul services for thirteen Class 61 Diesel Multiple Units train sets.

The 24-month contract, valued at approximately RM45.58 million, will run from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2028. This landmark award completes RAILTEC’s full-spectrum L1 to L4 rail MRO capability, covering the entire railway asset lifecycle – from critical daily operational maintenance to deep-tier heavy overhauls.

Established in 2021 as a joint venture between Destini and KTMB, RAILTEC is Malaysia’s sole Level 4 (L4) rail MRO provider. The company kicked off its portfolio that year by securing two landmark L4 heavy-overhaul mandates with a combined value of nearly RM700 million, covering 35 Class 92 six-car sets and 10 Class 93 Electric Train Sets (ETS).
