Following the success of its inaugural edition in June, The RuMa Hotel and Residences continues its ATAS Key Tables series with the return of
GU:UM, the modern Korean steakhouse by MICHELIN-starred Chef Louis Han, for an exclusive four-month residency at ATAS. The residency follows Chef Han’s debut appearance at ATAS in 2025 where his cooking first connected with Kuala Lumpur diners and marks GU:UM’s first
extended collaboration in the city.
Inspired by the shared values of MICHELIN-starred cuisine and MICHELIN Key hospitality, ATAS Key Tables is The RuMa’s signature dining series. It brings internationally recognised chefs, whose vision aligns with The RuMa’s commitment to excellence, through curated
culinary partnerships that go beyond a single guest appearance, aiming instead to create lasting exchanges between cultures and cuisines.
Rooted in Malaysian hospitality, ATAS is your destination for culinary discovery, where an evolving approach to modern dining provides a stage for visionary chefs and acclaimed restaurants to drive global culinary conversations. GU:UM’s four-month residency reflects that
ongoing curation, bringing one of today’s most celebrated contemporary Korean dining concepts into ATAS’ evolving culinary story.
At ATAS, GU:UM’s residency menu unfolds around fire and togetherness. It opens with inventive takes on Korean favourites — Yukhwae Jeon, Mulhwae, and the playful KFC (Korean Fried Cauliflower) — before moving into the restaurant’s signature charcoal-grilled
centerpieces: Hanwoo Lower Loin, Woodae Galbi Short Rib, and a Surf & Turf Platter.
From there, the menu turns homeward. Uncle Lulu’s Fried Rice, GU:UM’s Cold Japchae, Sujebi Mac & Cheese, and Doenjang Jjigae draw on the nostalgic flavours of everyday Korean dining — food that feels closer to memory than performance. Dessert closes the experience with a
lighter hand: Hotteok, Mandarin Bingsu, and Koguma Mousse.
Through GU:UM, ATAS invites guests to experience Korean cuisine through Chef Louis Han’s lens — where fire becomes a medium for connection, familiar flavours are reimagined, and every dish carries a story of heritage, memory and craftsmanship.
