Amanah Raya Bhd (AmanahRaya) has appointed Dato’ Seri Dr Vaseehar Hassan Abdul Razack as its new chairman, reinforcing the company’s commitment to strong corporate governance and strategic leadership.
Dato’ Seri Dr Vaseehar brings more than four decades of experience in banking, investment banking, Islamic finance, corporate governance and board leadership.
He began his banking career with Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad in 1980 before serving as CEO of Dallah Al Baraka Malaysia, where he led investment activities and played a role in strategic investments involving Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad and Bank Utama Malaysia Berhad.
He was also the founding chairman of RHB Islamic Bank, the world’s first Islamic bank established from the Islamic banking window of a conventional bank.
AmanahRaya Acting Group Managing Director and Group Chief Business & Operating Officer Jack Yap Ngee Heong said Dato’ Seri Dr Vaseehar’s extensive experience would provide valuable guidance as the company strengthens its position as Malaysia’s trusted Public Trustee.
Dato’ Seri Dr Vaseehar holds a PhD in Management Science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia.
