The government will provide three months of free access to leading artificial intelligence (AI) software for youths aged 18 to 30 who successfully complete selected AI training modules under the Rakyat Digital platform.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the initiative forms part of the AI Untuk Rakyat programme, launched to accelerate AI literacy and adoption, particularly among young Malaysians.
“We are starting with the youth cohort aged between 18 and 30, with the Digital Ministry developing the necessary course modules. Those who complete the AI-related courses will receive a three-month free subscription to leading AI applications,” he said.
The programme will offer modules covering AI Safety, Cyber SAFE, Agentic AI, Generative AI and Cloud Untuk Rakyat, aimed at equipping participants with practical digital skills.
Anwar stressed that the complimentary AI software subscription will only be awarded to participants who successfully complete the training.
The AI Untuk Rakyat programme will officially open for free enrolment on Aug 31, 2026, with the government targeting 100,000 youths in its first phase.
He said the initiative is designed to ensure no Malaysian is left behind as the country accelerates its AI ambitions.
“We do not want anyone to be excluded from the AI revolution. That is why expanding AI awareness and education for the people must remain a national priority,” he said.
