Nestle (M) Bhd and United Plantations Bhd led Bursa Malaysia’s gainers, as advancing counters outnumbered decliners 550 to 476.
Another 612 counters were unchanged, 1,129 untraded and 48 suspended.
Nestle jumped RM3.12 to RM96.78 on 240,900 shares, while United Plantations climbed RM1 to RM34 on 412,800 shares.
Heineken Malaysia Bhd, Hong Leong Industries Bhd and Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd each gained 22 sen, closing at RM19.28, RM18.10 and RM20.76 respectively.
Among the losers, Hong Leong Bank Bhd and SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Bhd fell 26 sen each to RM22.04 and RM4.24, while UMS Integration Ltd dropped 22 sen to RM7.
Concrete Engineering Products Bhd eased 14 sen to RM3.46 and Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd slipped 10 sen to RM27.40.
