MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd said its ongoing legal dispute between its subsidiary, MSM Sugar Refinery (Johor) Sdn Bhd (MSM Johor), and Ranhill Water Technologies Sdn Bhd (RWT) remains under mediation, with both parties scheduled to attend another mediation session on Aug 27.
The refinery said the mediation judge, following a session held on July 29, proposed that both parties continue settlement discussions at a further mediation session next month.
The High Court maintained the deadline for expert reports, requiring the expert report to be filed by Sept 30 and any rebuttal expert report by Oct 30, provided all reports are submitted before the commencement of the trial.
The court has fixed the next case management on Sept 21, 2026, during which parties are expected to provide an update on the progress of mediation efforts and the preparation of pre-trial documentation.
The legal proceedings involve a dispute between RWT and MSM Johor, with the matter having undergone multiple case management sessions and mediation attempts since proceedings began.
MSM said it will make further announcements should there be any material developments in the case.
