Only World Group Holdings Berhad (OWG) has reached an amicable settlement in a long-running legal dispute involving its wholly-owned subsidiary, Magnificent Empire Sdn. Bhd. (MESB), bringing an end to all court proceedings between the parties.
OWG said MESB and the plaintiff entered into a settlement agreement on July 24, 2026, to fully and finally resolve the dispute.
Under the agreement, MESB will pay the plaintiff RM3.58 million as the settlement sum. In return, both parties have agreed to withdraw their respective legal actions.
As part of the settlement, MESB will withdraw the relevant proceedings before the Shah Alam High Court and the Court of Appeal, while the plaintiff has agreed to withdraw the statutory notice issued against MESB under Section 466 of the Companies Act 2016. The statutory notice was withdrawn on July 28.
OWG said its subsidiary also filed the withdrawal of its counterclaim in the Shah Alam High Court and its appeal in the Court of Appeal on July 28, completing the necessary legal steps under the agreement.
The company noted that the settlement represents the full and final resolution of all previous disputes between the parties, with both sides committed to fulfilling their obligations under the agreement.
