Bursa Ends At Intraday’s High As KLCI Climbs 4.84 Points

Bursa Malaysia’s benchmark index closed at its intraday high on July 30, supported by sustained buying interest despite renewed geopolitical tensions and a weaker Wall Street lead after the US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged.

At 5pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 4.84 points, or 0.28%, to 1,720.40 from its previous day closing of 1,715.56. The index traded between 1,710.69 and 1,720.40.

Among the broader indices, the FBM 70 bucked the broader gains, slipping 12.84 points, or 0.07%, to 17,968.79, the F4GBM added 1.37 points, or 0.13%, to 1,029.87, while the FBM Emas gained 21.52 points, or 0.17%, to 12,694.33. The FBM Shariah also advanced 25.12 points, or 0.20%, to 12,530.49.

Meanwhile, Pegasus Heights Bhd was the most actively traded stock as the counter ended unchanged at half a sen on 79.4 million shares. Other actively traded counters include Zetrix AI Bhd, which rose one sen to 71.5 sen on 70.9 million shares, VS Industry Bhd, which fell 1.5 sen to 22 sen on 37.1 million shares, while Steel Hawk Bhd gained 1.5 sen to 23 sen on 31.72 million shares.

Financial heavyweight Public Bank Bhd added one sen to RM5.16 on 30.69 million shares.
