Kelington Group Bhd is investing about RM120 million to build its first industrial gas production facility in India.
The integrated engineering solutions provider said its wholly owned subsidiary, Ace Gases Technologies Private Ltd, will develop a 300-tonnes-per-day merchant air separation unit in Maharashtra.
Kelington Chief Executive Officer Lim Seng Chuan said the standalone plant will produce industrial gases including nitrogen, oxygen and argon for customers across sectors such as healthcare, electronics, automotive, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food processing and manufacturing.
“Built on a site spanning about 20,000 sq m, the project will include supporting infrastructure, utilities, storage facilities and distribution systems.
“Construction is expected to begin in August 2026, with completion targeted for the third quarter of 2028, subject to regulatory approvals. The investment will be funded through internally generated funds and bank borrowings,” Lim shared.
Lim added that the plant’s location near key industrial centres, including Mumbai and Pune, would provide logistical advantages in serving customers across Maharashtra and neighbouring markets.
