Southern Score Unit Secures RM146 Million Data Centre Electrical Work Subcontract

Southern Score Builders Berhad has secured a RM146.53 million subcontract for electrical works at a data centre project through its 51%-owned subsidiary, SJEE Engineering Sdn Bhd (SJEE).

The construction group said SJEE had accepted a letter of award (LOA) from a local construction company to undertake the Electrical Package 3 Works (MV) for the data centre development.

The subcontract is valued at RM146.53 million, excluding any applicable sales and service tax (SST).

According to the company, the project is deemed to have commenced on July 27, 2026, and is scheduled for completion by Jan 15, 2028.

While Southern Score Builders did not disclose the identity of either the main contractor or the project owner, the award further strengthens the group’s growing exposure to Malaysia’s expanding data centre construction sector, which continues to attract significant investments from global technology companies and cloud service providers.

The company said the contract is not expected to have any effect on its issued share capital, shareholding structure, net assets per share or gearing immediately.
