Bursa Malaysia remained slightly lower at midday on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) slipping 1.17 points, or 0.07%, to 1,735.98 as investors remained selective.
The index moved between 1,729.34 and 1,739.14 during the morning session, while the broader market was also mixed. The FBM70 fell 56.31 points to 18,269.75 and the FBMEMAS declined 15.45 points to 12,840.57, while the FBMSHA edged up 0.57 point to 12,692.11.
Trading activity was led by PTRANS, which rose 4.0 sen to 21.5 sen with 786.4 million shares changing hands. YTL gained 16 sen to RM2.13 while YTL Power added 29 sen to RM4.66.
Among the top gainers, Nestle rose 60 sen to RM101.90, followed by Tong Herr Industries which gained 49 sen to RM2.39.
On the losing side, Batu Kawan Plantation fell 66 sen to RM20.74, MPI declined 42 sen to RM47.24 while United Plantations dropped 32 sen to RM33.88. Kuala Lumpur Kepong also fell 18 sen to RM21.42.
MRCB was unchanged at 34 sen with 382.7 million shares traded, while HHRG also held steady at 10.5 sen after 253.5 million shares changed hands.
