Nurul Izzah Relinquishes PKR Deputy President Post To Pursue Further Studies

Nurul Izzah Anwar has relinquished her post as PKR deputy president, saying the decision was made after careful consideration to allow her to focus on further studies and continue serving the community beyond formal political roles.

In a Facebook post, Nurul Izzah said she would remain a PKR member and continue supporting the party’s efforts to build a better Malaysia under the leadership of party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“I will continue to remain a PKR member, supporting the struggle for a better Malaysia led by Anwar together with its grassroots,” she said.

Meanwhile, she voiced confidence in PKR vice-president Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, who will serve as acting deputy president, and Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, who will take on the role of PKR election director.

Nurul Izzah said she believed both would carry out their responsibilities with wisdom, prudence and diligence.

Nevertheless, despite stepping away from the deputy presidency, she said she looked forward to meeting party members at the PKR National Congress in Melaka on Aug 15 and 16.
