After more than four years without a new group single, BIGBANG are set to return with “BiiiG”.
The group announced the new digital single on August 10, with its release scheduled for August 19. The date marks BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary.
The first teaser features G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung, confirming the trio as the lineup for the comeback. It will be BIGBANG’s first group release since “Still Life” in April 2022.
The three members have remained active during the gap. They also reunited for “Home Sweet Home”, a collaboration released on G-Dragon’s Übermensch album. “BiiiG”, however, will be their first new single as a trio.
Hype Malaysia reports that YG Entertainment described “BiiiG” as a song that reflects BIGBANG’s present as the group reaches its 20th anniversary. The agency also said the track will show another side of the group’s musical direction.
The new single is part of a larger anniversary programme.
BIGBANG will also take their “XX: COSMOS” world tour across Asia, Europe and the United States. The tour will include a Malaysia stop at TM Stadium Nasional on January 9, 2027.
The group is also preparing “Cosmos”, a two-part media art exhibition in Seoul. The project will cover BIGBANG’s 20-year history. A prequel exhibition is scheduled for later this month at Lotte World Tower, with the main exhibition planned for later this year.
For now, the focus is on “BiiiG”. The single will arrive after more than four years without a new BIGBANG group release and on the exact date the group turns 20.
