West River Bhd has secured a RM22.56 million electrical subcontract for a data centre (DC) development in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, through its wholly owned subsidiary West River Engineering Sdn Bhd.
The award from China State Construction Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd covers electrical works for a consumer landing station at the SILC Industrial Area. West River Engineering will handle the design, supply, execution, completion, handover and maintenance of the works.
The consumer landing station forms part of a broader phased development for Digital Hyperspace Malaysia Sdn Bhd, which includes a data centre building, mechanical and electrical building, office block and supporting facilities.
The subcontract commenced on June 20 and is scheduled for completion by Oct 30, 2026, followed by an 18-month defects liability period.
West River Managing Director Lim Yong Lai said the project will strengthen its track record in data centre electrical infrastructure as it continues to pursue opportunities across digital infrastructure, commercial, industrial and related mechanical and electrical engineering segments.
