A forest fire broke out over an area of about 2.02 hectares near a shop in Jalan Beringin, Kawasan 13, Port Klang, this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 1:24 pm, prompting a team from the Port Klang Fire and Rescue Station to reach the scene five minutes later.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that the fire had spread across about five acres of forest. Fourteen personnel from the Port Klang and Sri Andalas fire stations were subsequently deployed to contain the blaze.
The operation is being supported by a Fire Rescue Tender, a Light Fire Rescue Tender and two water tanks, with firefighters continuing efforts to extinguish the fire.
