OpenSys (M) Bhd posted a 23.7% year-on-year increase in profit after tax (PAT) to RM7.89 million for the six months ended June 30, 2026 (1H26), from RM6.37 million a year earlier, underpinned by strong hardware sales and sustained recurring income from its solutions and services business.
Revenue for 1H26 also climbed 24.2% to RM63.39 million from RM51.02 million, driven mainly by its Hardware segment, where revenue surged 176% to RM22.33 million.
The Solutions and Services segment remained the group’s largest contributor, generating RM41.06 million and providing a stable recurring income base from maintenance, kiosk operations, cheque processing, SmartCIT and software services.
For the second quarter, PAT rose 21.6% to RM3.90 million from RM3.21 million, while revenue increased 23.5% to RM32.1 million.
Quarterly hardware revenue jumped 188.5% to RM11.91 million, supported by the rollout of cash recycling machines and demand for operating system upgrade projects.
OpenSys also declared a third interim dividend of 0.45 sen per share for FY26, marking its 49th consecutive dividend payout since 2010.
Chief Executive Officer Luke Sebastian said the first-half performance demonstrated the group’s ability to capture growth opportunities while maintaining a resilient recurring revenue base.
Looking ahead, OpenSys expects banking automation, cash recycling machine replacement programmes, operating system upgrades and growing adoption of teller cash recyclers and Branch-of-the-Future solutions to support its order pipeline.
The group is also advancing initiatives across SmartCIT, the buySolar marketplace, PalmWav digital payments, merchant acquiring services, artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, OpenSys expects to deliver a satisfactory performance for FY26.
