Singapore equities opened lower on Monday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) falling 50.36 points, or 0.88%, to 5,693.23 as at 9.25am.
The decline came after the STI ended the previous week at 5,743.59, having gained 0.79% over the shortened four-session trading week.
Market breadth was slightly negative, with 134 advancers against 140 decliners, while trading volume stood at 241.72 million shares with a total value of S$243.73 million.
Among major counters, OCBC Bank fell 0.69 points, or 2.17%, to S$31.10 as at 9.26am.
Other major counters were mixed, with DBS at S$75.35, UOB at S$40.87, Genting Singapore at S$0.665, Singtel at S$4.42, AEM at S$10.52 and Sembcorp Industries at S$5.87.
In the derivatives market, total trading volume stood at 33.48 thousand contracts as at 9.10am.
The FTSE China A50 Index Futures for August 2026 stood at 14,933 points, with a volume of 2,198 contracts, while Nikkei 225 Index Futures for September 2026 traded at 68,630 points.
The FTSE China H50 Index Futures for August 2026 was at 15,920 points, while the SGX FTSE Taiwan Index Futures for August 2026 stood at 4,022.25 points.
The USD/SGD Futures for August 2026 was at 1.2784, while USD/CNH Futures for September 2026 stood at 6.7273.
