Honor’s Humanoid Robots Joining Merdeka Parade 2026

Where this year’s parade features multiple ethnicities, they are also joined with multiple species. Honor humanoid robots will be making their international debut outside of China here in Malaysia.

To add intrigue, the Honor Robotics A1 and D1 will be participating at the coming Malaysia Marathon 2026 on 30th August, then joining the Merdeka parade at Putrajaya on 31st August.

The two humanoid robots will take part in separate categories during the marathon in Kuala Lumpur. The Honor Robotics D1 will take on a 10km route, which starts from Pavilion Kuala Lumpur at 12:00am.

According to Honor, the D1’s 10km run will put its speed, stability and terrain-traversal capabilities to the test.

Meanwhile, the A1 will run alongside participants in the 5km category starting at KLCC, which is also expected to include Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Following the marathon, the A1 and D1 will head to Dataran Putrajaya on 31st August to participate in Malaysia’s 69th National Day Parade. This also marks Honor’s first participation as a contingent in Malaysia’s National Day Parade, and it is the first smartphone brand to do so.

Members of the public will be able to see both humanoid robots up close at Honor’s booth at Dataran Putrajaya. Before that, the A1 and D1 will make appearances at Honor booths at KLCC and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from 29th to 30th August, where visitors can take photos with the robots.

Looks like this year’s parade is shaping up to be an interesting one.
