Highway owner of the Kajang–Seremban Highway (LEKAS) clarified that a lorry fire incident that went viral on social media did not occur on the LEKAS highway as previously reported.
In a statement, LEKAS said the incident on Aug 21 took place near the exit from the Sungai Long Toll Plaza towards the LEKAS highway at the Kajang Perdana Interchange, which is located on the SILK Highway.
The operator said the fire and rescue department successfully extinguished and brought the lorry fire under control at 5.20pm.
The clarification came after a video showing the lorry fire was widely circulated on social media, with reports incorrectly identifying the location as being on the LEKAS highway.
