Oppstar Bhd shares rose more than 7% on Friday after the technology company announced that it had been selected for a strategic programme involving the Malaysian government and Arm Ltd.
The counter climbed to RM0.72 during the session before paring some of its gains to close at the same level.
Oppstar said it had received an offer letter setting out the conditional approval for the allocation of an Arm Compute Subsystem (CSS) access token under the strategic cooperation programme between the Government of Malaysia and Arm for telecommunications and data centre applications.
The development comes after reports in May 2026 that Oppstar had been selected for the programme, which had helped drive strong interest in the stock.
Oppstar shares have surged more than 140% since May, reflecting growing investor interest in the company’s potential role in Malaysia’s semiconductor and advanced computing ecosystem.
