Fenty Beauty has replaced one of its best-known foundations. The original Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation is being phased out, with the new Pro Filt’r Fluid Flex Natural Matte Longwear Foundation taking its place.
The new formula keeps the Pro Filt’r name but changes the finish, coverage and shade range. It comes in 50 shades, including a wider range of cool, warm, golden, peach and olive undertones.
Fluid Flex has a natural matte finish with medium, buildable coverage. According to Fenty Beauty, it is designed to move with the skin and resist creasing, sweat, humidity and transfer. The brand also says it can last for up to 12 hours without oxidising.
The formula took three years to develop and was made in Japan. It also contains starfruit extract, which Fenty says helps control oil and shine.
Shade matching has also been updated. Shoppers can use Fenty Beauty’s online tools to find a match through a selfie or compare their existing foundation shade with one of the new Pro Filt’r shades.
The change comes as Fenty moves on from the original Pro Filt’r formula, which has been part of its complexion range since the brand launched in 2017. While the name remains, the new version is positioned as a different formula rather than a simple update to the original.
On Fenty Beauty’s Malaysia website, the new foundation is listed at RM245 to RM265, depending on the shade, with 30ml of product.
For anyone who has relied on the original Pro Filt’r, the key changes are the finish, formula and shade range. The replacement keeps the same name but is not the same foundation.
