ASMC Forecasts Haze And Poor Visibility To Persist Across Malaysia

Malaysia is expected to remain under the influence of southwest winds this week, with haze and poor visibility potentially affecting Sarawak and western parts of the peninsula, according to the latest weather forecast analysis by the ASEAN Specialised Meteorological Centre (ASMC).

METMalaysia said the number of hotspots remains high in southern Sumatra and western Kalimantan, creating conditions that could contribute to haze across parts of the country during the forecast period.

The prevailing southwest winds could also carry smoke and haze from the affected areas towards Malaysia, potentially reducing visibility in areas of Sarawak and the western peninsula.

The weather department advised the public to refer to its official website and social media channels for the latest and verified weather information.

Members of the public can also download the myCuaca application for updates on weather conditions and related warnings.
