HSS Engineers 1H26 Profit Jumps To RM10.3 Million Despite Fall In Revenue

HSS Engineers Bhd recorded a 28.8% increase in profit after tax (PAT) to RM10.3 million for the first half of 2026 (1H26) from RM8 million a year earlier, despite revenue declining 7.6% to RM100.9 million from RM109.3 million.

For the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2Q26), PAT edged up to RM6.8 million from RM6.6 million in the corresponding quarter, while revenue slipped 4.8% to RM54.9 million from RM57.7 million amid changes in project mix.

Looking ahead, HSS Engineers said it remains well positioned to capture opportunities from Malaysia’s infrastructure development cycle, supported by continued spending across transportation, water, rail, renewable energy and technology-driven infrastructure.

The group is also expanding its digital and artificial intelligence capabilities through HSS Propick Technologies. As at 2Q26, more than 1,500 telecommunications towers had been digitised under its Digital Twin initiative, with another 1,000 scheduled for implementation during the year.

HSS Engineers continues to participate in major infrastructure projects including the Pan Borneo Sabah Highway, East Coast Rail Link, Klang Valley Double Tracking Phase 2, water infrastructure projects nationwide and the Westports 2 expansion.

Its international footprint is also growing, including a consultancy contract worth about US$4.5 million (RM19.2 million) for the Davao Public Transport Modernisation Project in the Philippines and a design consultancy appointment for a greenfield container terminal in Gujarat, India.

As at June 30, HSS Engineers’ order book stood at approximately RM2.15 billion, with project management contributing about 80%, while its tender book totalled around RM480 million, providing visibility for medium-term earnings and potential order replenishment.

The group is also building recurring income through renewable energy investments, including a 95MW large-scale solar project in Hilir Perak and a 29.99MW solar photovoltaic plant in Kuala Muda, Kedah.
