Stock Today: Supermax Surges 11% After Return To Profit In 4Q

Supermax Corporation Bhd shares jumped 11.29% to RM0.345 as at 3.03pm today, after rising as high as RM0.365 earlier, as investors responded to the group’s return to profitability in the fourth quarter.

The stock opened at RM0.330 and traded between RM0.330 and RM0.365, with 428.70 million shares changing hands. Its previous close was RM0.310.

The buying interest came after Supermax reported a sharp improvement in its fourth-quarter performance, with revenue rising 42.5% year-on-year to RM217.3 million for the three months ended June 30, 2026.

The stronger revenue was driven mainly by higher average selling prices and increased demand amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Improved cost efficiency also helped the group swing back into the black.

Supermax recorded EBITDA of RM91.3 million and profit before tax of RM35.2 million in 4QFY26, compared with losses of RM13.1 million and RM39.6 million respectively a year earlier. Profit after tax stood at RM79.8 million, helped further by the recognition of deferred tax assets.

Quarter-on-quarter, revenue jumped 71.4% or RM90.5 million, allowing the group to return to profitability after posting losses in the third quarter.

Despite the quarterly turnaround, Supermax’s full-year revenue stood at RM737 million while its loss for the year widened slightly to RM154 million from RM150 million in FY25.
