Niseko is getting a new set of private ski residences, but these are not typical holiday homes. PCPD and Hyatt have announced ONE HANAZONO VILLAS, a collection of 13 villas that will be the first Park Hyatt-branded villas in Japan.
The project is located in Hanazono, one of Niseko’s main ski areas. It brings together Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and interior designer André Fu, with the Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono team handling the management and services.
The villas are designed for year-round use. Each will measure between 700 and 1,000 square metres, with four to six ensuite bedrooms. They will also feature spacious living and dining areas, private gardens and individual garages.
Most of the homes will have views of Mount Yotei. The villas will sit on elevated decks, with gardens at the front and rear and large windows overlooking the surrounding landscape.
For winter visitors, access to the slopes is a key feature. Owners will have access to a private clubhouse with ski-in, ski-out access. It will include ski lockers, dedicated ski valets and a lounge serving light meals and refreshments.
The residences will be privately owned but managed by the Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono team. Owners can therefore use the properties as private homes while having hotel staff manage the day-to-day services.
The development follows the opening of Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono in 2020. PCPD and Hyatt have worked together on several projects in the area, with PCPD also involved in the wider development of Hanazono and nearby Weiss.
Privacy is another focus. Each of the 13 villas will stand separately, with its own driveway, garden and garage. The idea is to give residents more space than they would typically get in a hotel or larger residential complex.
Two furnished show villas are expected to be completed this winter. The rest of the residences will form a small collection within Hanazono, giving buyers another option in one of Japan’s most established ski destinations.
