The smell of something frying a few stalls away. Handwritten prices on cardboard. Traders calling out, conversations switching between languages. You went there for one thing; a few stalls later, your hands are full.
For IMMERSIO 2026, PASAR becomes the starting point for more than 100 artists and creative technologists from Malaysia and across Asia, each offering their own take on its encounters, exchanges, cultures and beautiful chaos through more than 70 works spanning digital and interactive art, projection, sculpture, visual works and performance.
IMMERSIO is a biennial new media art festival by Filamen that invites audiences to experience art beyond the usual gallery setting. For its 2026 edition, the familiar world of PASAR becomes something to look at again and experience it differently.
Viewers can get to experience the pasar in a unique way, looking at the familiar sights (3 kuih for RM2) in a different method. This Merdeka and Malaysia day, you’ll fall in love with the pasar all over again.
IMMERSIO will be held at GMBB in Kuala Lumpur from the 11th to the 27th of September. Tickets are available here for purchase, with early tickets currently being sold for RM6.
